Join WU

I. Joining WU
: To Join WU you should have either received an invite or have played with WU members and achieved familiarity with them via IRC. IRC participation in this clan is absolutely mandatory.
: To request a tryout, first read the sticky thread in the WU Recruit section of the forum.
: Fill out the necessary information in an individual thread, then you should join #WU on irc.gamesurge.net and speak with a current [WU] member
: If granted a tryout you will be tested on an individual skill level, and a team based environment. There will be two parts to the entire tryout. Please read below for the tryout details.
II. WU Try Out Rules (Qualify for WUr)
    A. Part 1 - Individual Tryout
: Map is ctf_2fort with 2 halves, for both an offense and defense session for the recruit consisting of 10 runs.
: A run ends when the offensive player is dead. : Each offensive class gets 10 tries to cap the flag against each other.
: The recruit will have to pick a class for offensive and defensive modes of the tryout, this can be the same class.
: Snipers are not recommended, and flag running or death matching classes are preferred.
: The attacking player must enter the defender's base within 60 seconds, and he must reach the basement of fort another 60 seconds after he has entered the defender's base
: A capture of the flag on offense is scored as +2 on the recruit's total score, on the other hand if he gives up a capture on defense , it will be -2.
: A kill by the recruit is +1 on both offense and defense
: Recruiter will take note of score out of 20 and continue to second half of tryout.
: This tryout will be performed by two recruiters, one trying out the player, the other keeping score.
: If the player trying out does not score 6 points or more in the first half, he is automatically disqualified from the entire tryout.

    B. Part 2 - Team Tryout
: The team tryout will consist of two rounds of live scrimmage, in 6v6 or 8v8 with atleast one WU recruiter participating. The second recruiter will be spectating the player during the scrim. While the second recruiter will spectate the player in either live spectator mode, or using source TV.
:Since there will be 2 rounds of a scrim, the roles of the WU members participating in the tryout will need to be switched for each round (ie. for the first round, the member spectating will be the one playing in round 2).
: One of the scrimmage rounds will need to be played on a capture the flag style map. Another will need to be played on a capture point style map.
: A demo of the player trying out will need to be produced by the spectating recruiter.
: The player will have to be on the same Ventrilo channel with one of the recruiters during this scrim.
: The scrimmage can be an actual WU 8v8 scrimmage, a 6v6 scrimmage with random players, and also a pug. No unorganized pub games will be allowed.
: Following the two rounds of scrims, the two recruiters will begin scoring the player based upon four different criterias.
      1. In-Game Communication Abilities: How well does the player communicate with the rest of his team mates. Does he talk out of turn? Does he say the right things to reference a map, a situation? Does this player fail to communicate during battle?
      2. Individual Class Effectiveness: How well does the player play the class he chooses? If hes a medic, can he uber in the right moments? If he is a soldier, can he hit all his RJs? Engineer, can he build in the right spots? Basically this has to cover all of the abilities the class possesses.
      3. Offensive and Defensive awareness: How well does this player play during various attack and defending situations? For instance, does this player defend the flag well in an assigned position of a CTF map? Does he DM the other team properly before capturing the flag in a CP map? Does he meet a specific requirement that was set in the strategy that was requested of him?
      4. Overall Teamwork: How does this player play with his teammates? Is he always unaware where his teammates are? Does he leave medics behind? Is he always in the right place at the right time? This will determine how this inividual meshes with the rest of the team.
: Each one of these criterias will be graded out of 5 points between the two recruiters. Both recruiter's scores will be averaged, and that will be the final score for each scoring criteria. The total score will be based out of 20.

    C. Part 3 - Final Scoring for the Tryout
: Both subtotals in the tryouts will be added, and a final score out of 40 will be provided to the player trying out.
: In order to receive full [WU] status, the player will need to score a 24/40 (60%).
: In order to receive a recruit [WUr] status, the player will need to score a 20/40 (50%).
III. WUr Rules (Qualifying for full WU)
Players don't always qualify for full WU, however we want to ensure that a WUr will be entitled to same chances of playing in a match as an everyday WU member. The following section will describe what is required for a player to advance themselves as a full fledged WU member.
: A recruit must have played with WU for 2 weeks to be considered for full WU.
: Recruit must submit 3 screenshots of a top score on a 14+ player pub server, (7 players on each side).
: They must score #1 in points on the screenshots
: Then the player will need to submit a demo or reference a scrim or a match which they have played in.
: WU recruiters will need to review and use Part II. of tryout scoring system to provide the recruit a final score of their performance.
: Final score will be again based out of 20 for this part of the scoring. The recruit will need a 16 out of 20 to receive his full WU status.
IV. Other Rules
Each player must oblige with every single rule and requirement in each of the leagues that Notorious WU Tang of Team Fortress partakes in. It is the player's responsibility to read, understand and follow these rules to the fullest extent. If any of these rules are not followed by the clan member, WU has the authority to dismiss this player, suspend or discipline them in any form or fashion.
